66 people died in the magnitude 6.8 earthquake in the central Sichuan province at 12:52 p.m. local time on Monday, local media reported.
The last toll given by state agency Xinhua was 21 dead, but the figure rose to 66 in the past few hours. Additionally, according to national television, 12 people are missing and 250 are injured.
