The war in Ukraine ended up adding fuel to the fire if prices rose as a result of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

After the war began in late February, global prices of many essential commodities rose, creating an energy and food crisis.

More than six months after the start of the war, the cost of living has reached record levels not seen in decades, even as central banks raise interest rates to curb spiraling inflation.

This massive price increase is accounted for by the basic basket of goods and services each country produces for household consumption.
