Ivana Trumpfirst wife Donald TrumpFormer President Americaand the mother of his three children, has died at the age of 73, the former president and Republican billionaire announced this Thursday, July 14.
“I am deeply saddened to announce to all who loved Ivana Trump that she has passed away at her home in New York,” said D. Trump wrote on his social media site, Truth Social.
The former president did not specify the cause of death, instead remembering his ex-wife as an “amazing and beautiful” woman who led a “great and inspiring life” and his children, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka and Eric.
“Ivana Trump is a survivor. She left communism and embraced this country. She taught her children toughness and resilience, compassion and determination. She will be greatly missed by her mother, her three children and her 10 grandchildren,” her family said in a statement.
The former Czechoslovakian model immigrated to America, married the president in 1977 and became a collaborator in many of his businesses until she reached management positions in the Trump Organization and some hotels.
The couple, widely followed by the tabloids, divorced in 1992 amid major media scrutiny after Trump’s affair with actress Marla Maples, whom he would marry a year later and have a daughter, Tiffany.
In October 2017, a few months after Trump entered the White House, Ivana Trump published a book, “Raising Trump,” in which she described how she taught her children “the value of money, not to lie.” Or cheat or steal and respect others.”
Deciding to keep her first husband’s surname, Ivana created a versatile career, launching clothing, jewelry and beauty products, writing several books and collaborating on magazines.
