As announced Liverpool EchoOn July 14 last year, Corinna Smith attacked her husband, Michael Baines, while he was sleeping in a house in Whirlpool, Cheshire.
Baines suffered severe burns and was pronounced dead at a hospital five weeks later. For his part, Corinna was prosecuted, presenting her defense arguments in court last Friday, July 9th.
The woman pointed out that her daughter had confessed to her husband’s sexual abuse. Hearing this, Smith, who was the caretaker of the deceased, returned home, filled a bucket with boiling water and then mixed it with almost 7 pounds of sugar.
Smith took advantage of the sleeping pines to pour the entire contents of the bucket into his hands and torso, leaving 36% of the body with burns.
